Dolly Parton on my Playlist????

Wondering why I have added Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers to my music playlist? Simply for old times sake. My fondest memories of this time of year as a child are Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers...singing us to sleep or loudly waking us up. My mom thought that it was funny to blast that music when we were kids. Looking back, it actually was kind of funny! I love this time of year and the music that fills my home! We are into Amy Grant Christmas - my favorite!

What are your favorite Christmas CD's? We are looking to add a few to our selection and would appreciate any suggestions.

Happy listening!

I refuse to answer that question until Thanksgiving. :-)

What great memories! When I was a kid, we had a 5-pack (tapes, of course) of classic songs from Time/Life or something, and we listened to them all year long! My favorite song was "Melekaluekelaka is the thing to say on a bright Hawaiian Christmas day."

Favorite CD's now (so hard to choose, because I usually only love a few tracks on any album. But, I do love the entire albums listed below.) -
1. The Christmas Album by The Manhattan Transfer
2. Let Us Adore Him by The Gibbons Family
3. The MoTab concert with Sissel

I also enjoy most of the Voice Male CD - Jingles II, I think, and Christmastime by Hilary Weeks.

Happy shopping!

I'm totally going to come back to see what everyone recommends. I LOVE Christmas music! Josh Groban has some great Christmas songs. I just pick and choose my favorites off of ITunes.

I forgot 2:

1. The Christmas Collection by the Carpenters
2. A Shadow Mountain Christmas (compilation sold at Deseret Book)

I like the Clay Aiken CD...it's good. We started busting out the christmas music this weekend too!

Your mom blasted music to you too to wake us up? That must be a mother trait. My mom would do it with Barbara Streisand...not my favorite! MOTAB I could handle though. Hope you're starting to feel better!

I echo Heather's comments about the MoTab with Sissel and the Carpenters Christmas. Those are probably my all-time favorites. I also like James Taylor's Christmas album. And I love any Bing Crosby Christmas songs. Frank Sinatra is pretty good too... Now I'm getting excited to pull out the Christmas music -- although I will wait until Friday!

We grew up on Bing Crosby Christmas music. I love it! It was the first CD I bought after getting married. I wanted my kids to grow up with it also.

Okay, here are a couple more:

Harry Connick Jr.'s "When My Heart Finds Christmas" and The Time-Life Treasury of Christmas. This second one has a whole bunch of classic Christmas songs that I think EVERYONE grew up on!
