Bump or Bum?

Those of you who are around us often know that my Nick speaks with a tiny lisp. It is not largely noticeable but occasionally he will say things and I can't quite figure out what he is saying. Yesterday it was this:

Nick: "Mom, your bump is getting bigger."

Me: "My bump is getting bigger because the baby is getting bigger."

Nick: "No mom, your BUM is getting bigger."

I guess it is time to admit that I carry my pregnancies in my backside. I was blog stalking yesterday and came across the blog of another prego lady who is just a bit further than I am. She was sad because yesterday she retired her skinny jeans and was now wearing one size larger than normal. I wanted to comment and tell her that I retired my skinny jeans at like 6 weeks. I guess that is the difference between baby #1 and baby #4...or lets face it...I just get fat! I think I will go eat a candy bar now!

I feel for you Renee. I get pregnant in my "bum" way before my belly too. Leave it up to our kids to point out the obvious for us!

P.S. I'm sure you look great!

I am just like you. I gain my weight in the trunk. Oh well, I guess it is a small (ok lets be honest, when I am pregnet nothing is small) price to pay.

that is so funny! I know too well the curse of the bum! atleast you have some height to go with it. I have tried so hard to not focus on the weight gain I had with baby #4 and just enjoy the pregnancy (some days that was so hard) and every single minute of getting to experience a baby again. if it makes you feel better, my baby is now 7 months old and my bum is still really big!

Forget the candy bar, get the cinna stix from 5 buck pizza. Bethany (Goeringer) Tenney's husband had his delivery guy do a special delivery to her house while we were at a playdate there...and they are good. I mean good. And I would know, I am 32 weeks now Renee, and I have fattened up quite nicely. :-)

Nate got a Snickers almost everyday he was inside me. I highly recommend a little sweet-n-salty treat.
You're the best!

I don't like women who stay skinny the whole time they are prego, so don't sweat it. You always lose the weight and look great afterwards! Dax asked me the other day if I had another baby in my tummy cause my tummy was so big. Thanks Dax. I am soooooo not pregnant.

LOL! Well you always lose the weight after your pregnancies and you look fabulous pregnant or not!

That's me too, stinks! When I was pregnant with Jaida Trent asked me once what all the little red dots on my face were...nice I started crying. I also break out when I am pregnant! Why can't it just stick to our bellies?

I only saw you pregnant with Kylee and you looked great up until delivery. You've been skinny every time I've seen you since, so I don't really believe you. I guess the alternative to the bum is the freakishly big belly. We were happy to learn yesterday there is a rumor in our ward I've having twins.

Renee,

I've been meaning to comment on your blog FOREVER, so here it goes...

First CONGRATS on the girl news. So exciting for you all and to have a balanced act in the Holland house. How perfect was Kylee's face when she found out. So exciting!

I loved Kylee's homesick post. I wish I would have been that bright in elementary school.

Last, I'm glad I am not the only one who carries my babies in my bum! When I was 36 weeks prego with Mason one of my brothers returned from his mission, he said he thought I wasn't too big for being due in less than a month until I turned around! So I sympathize. And you go ahead and eat those candy bars! There should always be some perks to pregnancy and guilt-free eating should be one of them.

I'm right there with ya. I'm to the point where I've thrown good healthy eating habits out the window and am succumbing to all the cravings!
We can always work it off later, right?

Hey, at least you were EVER able to wear skinny jeans! That's one fashion I don't think will ever work on me! Hey, will you send me an e-mail at provotornow@gmail.com? I don't have your e-mail address, and wanted to ask you something. Thanks!

I know all about being pregnant in your "bum." My Butt is the first thing to get bigger and the last thing to shrink back to normal. It is so funny. My tummy shows last and is the first thing to go after baby. Well at least we are in good company!
