Halloween Costumes

Okay, is anyone else in the Halloween costume mode? My kids are suddenly really concerned about what they are going to be this year. Nick's request was to be Thomas the Train, again, but I talked him out of that! His next suggestion was Peter Pan. Which is worse...wearing the same costume two years in a row or having your son trick-or-treat in green tights? I decided on the later and placed a bid on a few Peter Pan costumes on ebay. As for Kylee, her suggestion was a bride. Yes, my 5 year old wants to be a bride! Yikes. After Nick decided on Peter Pan she settled on Tinker Bell which is easy - Walmart here I come! So, the hunt is now on for a dog costume for Austin. Nick is insisting that he be Nana the dog, just like on the movie. I do have a Mickey Mouse costume that fits Austin just right but that doesn't fit with the theme! Oh well...I guess the Halloween costumes will have to come out of my miscellaneous budget. I am sure my financially practical husband would see nothing wrong with being Thomas two years in a row, using dress up clothes we already have to make a bride, and using the Mickey Mouse costume on another child. SHHHHH...it will be our little secret! Anyway, happy costume hunting!

I totally know what you mean! I LOVE Halloween so I'm usually deciding on costume by, I don't know...August? Jackson is going to be a Cowboy so I'm pretty excited for that! Luckily I only have to worry about one, and no coordinating problems here!

How fun to be planning Halloween Costumes for your kids! I am totally with you on the fact that all of them should follow the same theme!! Tyler will just have to understand!

It was not negotiable for the boys. Black Spider man. The problem was finding them. I ordered online for $100 for both costumes. Crazy! Luckily I found them in CA at Costco, so I'll return the online ones.
My boys and now Lucy wear costumes every day, so I don't feel bad about buying new ones every year!

I have been having major trauma over halloween costumes. i can't decide whether the girls costumes have to go together or not. lily wants to be sleeping beauty and stella to be the fairy merryweather, but i don't want to have to try and make that costume with no pattern. I wanted Lily to be Minnie Mouse, but then what would Stella be, oh the trauma.

Your budget...huh? Just kidding! I love the Peter Pan and Tinkerbell idea but Renee I think Nana is a girl! We are being pretty boring with our costumes but the kids do look very cute in them!

Yes, I know Nana is a girl so we decided to just settle for a dog. Nick won't know the difference. Now I just have to find a dog costume and sneak it past my husband until Halloween. Oh the fun this time of year brings! Brit, there are Sharpay costumes online. Kylee saw it and totally freaked out but I told her no on the High School Musical theme. Why don't you dress her up like Gabriella? Funny!

I was totally kidding about the dog. I saw a cute one at target today but I couldn't find any small ones. They were really picked over. Check there and Toys R Us. Good luck!

PEter Pan is so cute!! When I was five I was tinkebell, my older brother Captain Hook, my little bro was Peter Pan, my mom's merrymiss(sp?) girls were pirates, and they took us trick or treating. I remember it well!! I must say, we were quite the bunch!
I got the most darling princess outfit for Carly-even down to the cone shaped had with the tulle tassle, but then I took it back because it was too expensive(I do that a lot!), and it's a costume that'd be more fun if she was walking. SO, we might be super cheap this year, and make her wear a cute Pistons uniform romper that we were sent, or some cute 12 month scrubs that say "Doctor in Training" on the back. I know-real creative, huh? =P
