Did you know!???!

Kylee has gotten her hands on the American Girl doll catalog - a mother's worst nightmare! She has so many requests I cannot hardly keep up with them. Every doll is "so cute" and she tells all of her friends that Santa loves her so much that he will bring her one. Well, Santa does love her but give me a break, they are EXPENSIVE!!! For some reason I have a really hard time justifying 75% of her Christmas budget being put towards ONE doll. I can just see her pulling the scissors out of the drawer and chopping all of that expensive hair off.
Did you know...Target carries a brand called "Our Generation" that look just like them. I was so excited when I saw them on the shelf tonight that I nearly wet my pants. They come with a change of clothes and sell other outfits for only $9.99! So, for less than $50.00 I got a doll that looks like the ones she has been dreaming of and was able to buy a few of the outfits too. I am trying to talk Tyler into the pink scooter because I just think it is so cute! So, I am one happy mamma tonight. My daughter will be thrilled on Christmas morning and she won't even know that it is not the real thing. Bring on the scissors...and thank you Target!

My sister April had an American Doll because she HAD to. I think she played with it 3 times before she lost interest and I think it ended up at DI. I know my parents were not happy to spend so much money. I am excited that you found a deal! You go mama!

You have to get the pink scooter. It's adorable. Kylee will be so excited. I can't wait until I can buy girl presents some day (hopefully). I just bought Jackson some presents for Christmas yesterday and it's not quite as exciting as the girls toys.

Target never fails me! It is the best store ever! I am so glad you found that. I assuming you are no longer getting her that dollhouse you were telling me about a few days ago :)

Good job, Renee. I couldn't resist the Bity Baby for Lucy though. I was in the American Girl store in NYC. There was too much pressure!

That is awesome!! That is crazy that they are so expensive! Way to go Target!! Or as Ethan calls it "The Red Store" Anyway, I am so glad that you didn't end up wetting your pants although it wouldl have been completely justified!

Way to shop mom!! I agree with you-those dolls are waaaay too expensive. My little sisters had them, and loved them, but they then thought that they needed to collect the rest of the collection! Ridiculous!
Don't you just love TArget?!

That scooter is pretty awesome...hopefully you get it. I loved looking through those magazines when I was little too, American Girl dolls are very dangerous. All of a sudden you want the furniture, clothes, etc...more expensive than an ACTUAL child. haha.

Impressive Shopping!! I love finding a bargain like that. I must admit though, my niece gets the American Girl Doll catalog and I find myself still dreaming and designing the perfect doll. Too many options now days though, remember when it just use to be 4 dolls?

I love it!!! It is so funny how we change when we become moms. I just have to laugh sometimes when I am so excited over a bargain!! Glad I am not alone. It seems like our kids find the most expensive thing out there and want it from santa...how do you explain that Santa is much richer when he visits the next door neighbor????

Oh how I loved my American Girl doll (at first) then she just mostly sat in the closet and had no attention after christmas! So glad you found a deal on those dolls at Target. She is too young to understand the difference, I think:) Good find! Oh, all that I have to look forward to when I buy for Olivia. Posts like this are very helpful if you are looking for a good doll that is a lot cheaper! Love the scooter, it's a must!
